Head Start Openings:

Health Manager

8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, 40 hours weekly, 52 weeks a year.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field of Child Health Services with 21 semester hours in Early Childhood Education. Preference given to applicants with experience in Head Start. Must be a good listener, organized, have ability to work independently, and prioritize workload. Must work with Health Advisor Board. Have Food Manager’s License. Must meet requirements of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Licensing Standards.

Duties include: Providing monthly status reports, Obtain and maintain CLASS certification, Obtain and maintain vision and hearing certification, coordinate general medical and dental services for children and their families, serve as an advocate for child health, work in collaboration with Nutrition Consultant, monitor meal services, Promote preventive health services and early intervention, conduct Health and Safety Checklist for each site, Monitor and data entry of health requirements of children, Monitor and data entry of safety drills, and Monitoring of First Aid Kits, Arrange CPR and First Aid trainings, conduct and arrange Health and Safety Trainings for staff.

Bus Monitor –Coulterville Head Start
7:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. /1:45 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday –Friday, 4.5 hours a day, 22 hours a week.
Benefits: 2-week vacation paid at Christmas, Personal Days, Sick Days
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED, Preference given to application with experience of Head Start or Early Childhood Education experience. Must meet requirements of Illinois Department of Children and Family Services Licensing Standards.
Duties: Daily Health Checks, Bus Inventory First Aid Kits, daily cleaning the bus, Maintaining accurate paperwork on daily transportation of children. Partner with Bus Driver to ensure safety of children on the bus and the bus route, communicate messages from parents and staff to the appropriate person. Assist children in and off the bus.

Bus Driver - Coulterville Head Start

Monday-Friday 22 ½ hours weekly. Split shift: 6:45 a.m. – 8:45 a.m. / 1:45 p.m. -4:15 p.m. (4 ½ hours daily)

Benefits:  Paid Holidays, Paid Sick Days, Paid Personal Days

Qualifications:  High School Diploma or GED.  Must be 21 years of age.  Must have safe driving record. Must have a Valid Illinois Driver’s license. Preference will be given to Valid CDL School Bus driver permit. Must meet requirements of Illinois DCFS Licensing Standards.  Must receive clearance through FBI criminal history records, including fingerprints and child abuse and neglect state registry check.  Preference given to individual with experience working with Pre-school age children or Head Start experience.  Must pass Illinois DCFS Drivers Clearance. CDL School bus training is provided.

Duties: Provide a positive, supportive environment for the Head Start children.  Follow Western Egyptian EOC Head Start Guide for Transporting the Head Start Child. Follow Illinois Rules of the Road. Complete daily pre-trip inspections.  Operate the bus safely at all times.

Keep a timely scheduled bus route. Follow Bus Transportation Guidelines.  Follow Arrival and Departure Guidelines.  Attend annual bus refresher course. Complete Gas logs. Partner with Bus Monitor to complete daily health checks. Partner with Bus Monitor on accurate paperwork and cleaning of the bus.
